Week 12: God is our good Father

And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”  – Luke 3:22 NKJV

Let me just tell you this: Our God is a good father.  I don’t know what you have been through in your life, what your views of God are or what type of relation you had with your father, but regardless, our God is a good father.  He affirms, He loves, He disciplines.
I’m so thankful He never leaves our side, always loves us, and cares so much for us.  He knows us and what we are going (have gone) through so well, and what our needs really are.  Rend Collective has a new song out Every Giant Will Fall, and in one line it says “Every chain of the past, you’ve broken in two.”  It reminds me that no matter your past, no matter what, God can break every chain.  And that is just it!  It, whatever it is, is in the past!  5 minutes, 5 days, 5 years….it’s the past.  Praise the Lord that everyday is made new.
I was praying about our future, praising about provision, and surrendering our present and it hit me.  It’s all about how God had provided, not about me or what I’ve done.  Then I connected the dots.  The God who provided in the past, who restores our present, is the reason for this joy.  My family is completely reliant on God, for all things.  None of it has to do with me, it’s all about Him.

On Sunday we had a chance to share our testimony with our home church, Centerpoint, here in Pagosa Springs, CO. What a blessed time to fellowship with our sending church family.  God showed up in an awesome way, speaking through Michelle and I.  I forget how extreme Michelle and I’s life must seem to some.  By this worlds standard we are reckless, careless, or risky.  We see it as a passionate pursuit of our Father’s presence, love and direction.

We have been through a lot these last few months: sickness, car accident, insurance companies, long travels, many beds, car rentals, 7 fillings (and more to go), and, to top it all off, I just got off the phone yesterday with our credit card that has been flagged for fraudulent purchases.  But Praise God!  He has been with us every step of the way, like a loving Father.  He has filled us with joy, peace, and provision.  All of our unexpected expenses have been covered.  Praise the Lord!

Please continue praying…

…for our family as we prepare for the return to Poland, only 16.5 hours of flights and layovers.

…as we move back to Poland, our search for a place to live (house preferably).

…as we open the Sweet Life this fall. (October 1st!)

…as we rest in His peace over our finances. (About 1/3 monthly raised, $1,000/$3,000)
