Chapter 39: Let us give thanks

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
As we sat around the table this past Thursday, we each spoke about what we are thankful for.  The Graves family is incredibly thankful for how God has helped us, in our reckless pursuit of Him.  He has been so faithful to us as we continue to seek Him first in our lives.  I would not trade anything to be exactly where we are today. We cast our cares upon Him, because He cares.
It has been a very busy and very crazy month.  On October the 29th we signed our lease for Sweet Life.  We have a location, are in the middle of the remodel.  We hope to open December 10th, 2015!  We are thankful that God has provided us with a great location, some amazing help, and unity amidst the stress.  Slowly but surely, we are making progress!  I hope to have some great before and after pictures for everyone before we open.
Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan.  It could be a plan for your day, financial plan for the holidays, or even just a simple conversation (or at least you thought it would be simple).  I have experienced this more times than I can count this past month (including: when we would open, specific equipment that is not available anymore, how many people we would have working at once….just to name a few!).  It has been during this time that I have had to press into Jesus.  Casting all my cares upon Him.  It was only when I let go of my worries, stress, and the chaos that I truly felt the peace and the comfort of God.
Beautiful peace.
In this peace I realized how much we have to be thankful for.  We celebrated Jack and I’s Birthdays (4yr and 30).  Next month, we celebrate Michelle’s Birthday, opening Sweet Life, and Christmas.  Then in January, we celebrate our 9th anniversary and Loralie’s 6th Birthday.  In February (if she is patient) we welcome Dorothy Kinga Graves into this world.
We have so much to celebrate.  In the midst of pain we can find Joy through Christ.
Please keep us in your prayers as we:
  • Open Sweet Life next month!  For peace, wisdom, discernment, and connections with our community
  • Prepare for Dorothy’s arrival!  Adjusting to a family of 5, a newborn (again), and a lack of sleep.
  • Adjust to a new season of life.  Communication between Michelle and I, Joy in all things, Christ as our center.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  We are thankful to have each of you in our lives.

God Bless!
