Chapter 36: A place to call our own.

“Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

Revelation 1: 17-18 NKJV

What an awesome statement of our faith, that we serve a God who has conquered the grave!  It seems all other trials that we may go through are so trivial, when our Lord Jesus Christ has risen from the dead.  Take a moment to let that soak in.

Praise the Lord!  We have found a place!  One of our biggest hurdles coming back  to Poland was not having a place to call our own.  We must have looked at over a hundred places online!  We must have received over a hundred “this place is already rented” responses!  This whole time we searched, Michelle and I always felt God had a place in mind.

Isn’t this the struggle of life?  We believe in God, we trust and know he is (has and will be) our provider….but as soon as we have a need that seems out of reach, we lose hope?!  I don’t know how many times we reminded each other of God’s provision and promises in our lives.  What a patient and loving Father we have!  God really is good.  He not only provided a place we were praying for, but he answered prayers we had not even yet prayed!

It feels wonderful to be back home.  Our time stateside was filled with many highs, a few lows, and amazing people.  Three months is a long time to spend on the road with two small kids, but it was completely worth it.  God showed up in so many ways, in and through so many people, asserting himself as Provider, Protector, and Father.

This next Monday, Loralie and Jack begin a new adventure at their new school.  Please pray for patience, protection, and peace as they begin to make new friendships, enter a more Polish school environment, and will be exhausted from all the new changes.  Such an exciting time for them!

Sweet Life is moving forward!  Slowly!  We are awaiting the Polish health departments approval (because they don’t send the denials) response of our floor plans/layout.  Once they do this we will be able to move forward on the rental negotiations.  Then we can sign the lease agreement and begin remodeling for opening!  Soooo close!  Praise the Lord for his blessing so far!  Continue to pray for favor, approvals, and swift hands during remodeling.

Please keep our family in your prayers.  We are (still) going through major transition and most likely will not be out of it until after GB3 (Graves Baby 3).  Adjusting to parenting three will be as challenging as adjusting my role from manager to owner.  I don’t want to fall into old habits of poor work/life balance, but understand the commitments to opening a new business.  Pray for peace, patience, and wisdom as we pursue these new ventures.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
