Chapter 32: Good, Pleasing, Perfect

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2

When we follow the prompting of God, we end up where we never thought possible.    I think about what expectations we had for this year, my how God has shown up!  Only 16 days in and we are already blown away by how much bigger His plans are!

We have had our first meeting for starting a coffee group in our home.  Our goal was to start meeting and see where it went, or if it would even be received well.  Our first meeting we had 9 people, 3 others that couldn’t make it that had intended on being there.  From this group of 9 we have a real strong core for future events.  Praise the Lord!  We have a wonderful foundation to build from, learning a lot in this process.

Michelle also helped lead worship for a new Sunday night worship service started by our friends the Adams.  We couldn’t have asked for a better night, God loves to show up and show off!  It was a peace filled night where we enjoyed the Spirit’s presence.  We are looking forward to see where God takes this ecumenical community.  The plan is simple:  Foster an environment where all are welcome, we invite Jesus to dwell with us, and we worship Him.  Something along these lines:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1

Isn’t this what God wants?  For all of us?  It is not an easy commitment to surrender your whole life to God in an act of worship, but it is completely worth it!

We also have some awesome opportunities!  We are searching for one or more people who would be interested in supporting our family to financially cover the cost of Polish Language Studies.  Not just a simple lesson, but enrolling us in intensive studies.  If you are interested in this, please let Michelle or I know so we can enroll as soon as possible!

We are moving forward in our plan to purchase a coffee farm’s harvest in Honduras!  We don’t have all the details yet, but it will be estimated that we will produce 400 250gram bags.  As we learn more information we will provide information on how you can join with us in this initiative.  We will have information on the farm, farmer(s), what type of coffee we will be purchasing, and what we will be supporting the farmer with (educational, medical, or quality of life like running water type initiatives).  If you are interested in this, please let us know how you would like to help.

In short, we ask for your prayers!

  • As we establish a foundation in which we purchase Green Coffee from a farm in Honduras (this Spring!) and how to distribute that in Europe and the U.S.
  • As we continue to have coffee community building meetings in our home, that they would be filled with the Spirit and His wisdom
  • As we continue to learn the Polish Language and seek a financial partner for schooling (we have a school/teacher in waiting!)
  • As Michelle helps lead worship during weekly meetings
  • As we continue to lay foundations for future coffee ministry and work
  • In our preparations for returning to the States for Brad’s sister’s wedding and networking(social and financial)
  • In building relationships with parents from our kids school

Thank you guys for all that you have done in supporting us!  If we can pray more specifically for you, please let us know by replying to this email!

God bless you and yours!
